It is the global environmental policy and strategy of Volkswagen Autoeuropa to become a recognised leader in protecting the environment.
This Environmental Policy Statement covers all activities at the Palmela plant, whether directly or indirectly involved with the manufacture of our products.
It is also Volkswagen Autoeuropa policy to seek for continual improvement in environmental performance, and where possible to control environmental aspects at the source. In particular we aim to:
Meet or go beyond environmental legal and other requirements. Maintain procedures and means to deal promptly and effectively with environmental emergencies. Establish objectives and programmes for the reduction of environmental impacts of our activities. Ensure that the environmental aspects of new manufacturing processes, works and related service activities are analysed. Promote an increase of value-adding destinations for waste. Ensure a clear definition of environmental objectives and responsibilities. Influence our contractors and suppliers in order to meet the Volkswagen Autoeuropa environmental requirements. Create or maintain green areas within or in the neighbourhood of Volkswagen Autoeuropa. |
