Jörn Reimers, Volkswagen Autoeuropa's Executive Director, stated about it that "this is a new symbolic landmark in the company's life. The reception of this car, namely in markets to where Autoeuropa did not export before, show we are in the right path and fill us with trust for future challenges, namely with the launching of Scirocco". In total Volkswagen Eos is exported to 58 markets.

 

The start of Volkswagen Eos production was in March of 2006. The quality of design and production determined a very good performance of this cabriolet from Volkswagen in the international markets in 2007, with highlight to the North American market (exportation of 15 380 units, 27,7%), Germany (13 772 units, 24,8%) and United Kingdom (6400 units, 11,5%).

 

2007 was a year of growth for Volkswagen Autoeuropa that allowed an increase of the production volume, reaching the 93.609 vehicles, from which 55.560 were Volkswagen Eos and 38.049 MPVs, Volkswagen Sharan and Seat Alhambra. In general Volkswagen Autoeuropa presented a positive balance in several criteria: the production volume increased (14,4%), and consequently the number of employees also (4,7%) totalising 2990, productivity increased 23,2% and the sales volume 14%.
